Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State residence of Prof. Banji Akintoye over the weekend.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the house, shooting sporadically into the building.
Akintoye, 86, is the leader of the umbrella body of the Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua.
Spokesman to Maxwell Akintoye, Adeleye, disclosed the incident in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.
The statement quoted him as saying that the gunmen stormed the neighbourhood on Saturday and attempted to access the compound.
It stated that Akintoye was, however, not around when the incident occurred and no one was hurt.
Some expended bullets were seen in the compound.
It added that the situation had since been reported to the Ekiti State Police Command for investigation.
