Gunmen Kidnap 8 Ceramic Workers in Kogi

No fewer than eight persons working with Ceramic Company were kidnapped by suspected gunmen along Ajaokuta -Lokoja highway in Ajaokuta Local government area of Kogi State.

Sources hinted that the incident occurred at Emiworo on Ajaokuta – Lokoja in the early hours of Wednesday in Emiworo under Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the State.

It was learnt that the workers were abducted while loading stones which is expected to be delivered to the ceramic factory site in Ajaokuta

The suspected hoodlums were said to have been fully armed, according to sources whisked away from their victims to an unknown destination.

One of the victims was identified as Hassan Shaibu.

The wife of one of the victims, Mrs. Shaibu’ who spoke to Journalists on phone   confirmed the abduction  of her husband by suspected gunmen on Wednesday

She explained that her husband was among those ceramic workers kidnapped at  Emiworo on Wednesday morning.

“We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, am confused and I don’t know where to go from here,” she said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Command, DSP William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

Aya, however, explained that six mining workers of West African Ceramic were kidnapped.

Aya pointed out the Police in collaboration with sister security agencies had combed the bushes to ensure that the abducted miners regained freedom from their abductors.
