Tragedy: Inferno Razed Olaiya Furniture to Ashes in Ilorin

Olaiya Furniture located off Hajj Cam‎p Road, Gaa Odota in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State was burnt to ashes on Tuesday afternoon.

The road leading to Mandate Estate,Hajja camp via Gaa Odota were‎ blocked by sympathizers from within and around the vicinity watching as properties  worth millions of Naira razed.
The inferno which lasted for about thirty minutes was said to have started from pieces of clothes a fashion designer beside the furniture showroom  were burning.
An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent said a woman whose house were behind the said furniture Showroom saw the burning clothes pieces and called their attention to it so as to avoid it spreading.
The mid-age woman said before they realize it the fire had spread through the wood laid underneath the building that comprises showroom,workshop,living apartment owned by the same person.
“The fire is a mysterious one because a woman whose house is behind the workshop saw the burning pieces and told those tailors to quench it so that it will not cause havoc,un knowing to us that the underneath wood has been gutted by fire”she explained.

The woman who could not but weep profusely said effort made by neighbour  to quench the fire led to it spreading to the next building.
Another sympathiser said two truck of water was used to quench  the  ‎fire by the Kwara state Fire fighter.
The wife,aged mother of the Chief Executive Officer of Olaiya Furniture’s children and apprentice were seen weeping uncontrollably at the scene of the inferno,however  the C.E.O  of Olaiya furniture was not seen at fire incident scene.
