The Kwara State Government has expressed great concern over the recent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the Northern part of the state.
The Secretary to the state government Alhaji Isiaka Gold stated this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Monday.
He said the State Government will continue supporting the Kwara State Police Command and other security agencies to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the acts of violence with a view to bringing them to justice.
Kwara State Government therefore called on all aggrieved parties on account of the recent or previous clashes to remain calm, refrain from taking the law into their hands and allow the security agencies to conclude their investigations.

The constitution and the rule of law and will therefore not hesitate to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone or group found to have instigated or taken part in any acts of violence.
Kwara State Government however appealed for calm and called on all citizens and residents of the state to go about their lawful activities without fear as it remains resolute in the task of maintaining law and order
It will be recalled that last week Monday a community in Yasikira Area of Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State has killed three herdsmen in retaliation of killing of their kinsman by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
According to a report a source from the community,Irate youth from the community allegedly launched a reprisal attach,which led to killing of three Fulani herdsmen in retaliation of the killing of a man,an indigene of the community.
