Hijrah: Ogunbiyi Charges Muslims to Abide by Islamic Tenets

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi has charged Islamic adherents in the State to always live true to the admirable tenets of Islam and traditions of Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W).

Ogunbiyi gave the charge in a statement he signed and forwarded to pressmen in Osogbo, the state capital, to mark the new Islamic calendar year of 1441.

He also admonished Muslims across the state to usher in the new Islamic year with a special prayer for speedy transformation of the state and her people.

His words: “let us continue to pray for the redemption of Osun State and not despair,” adding, “Islam is a religion of peace.”

“Therefore, our Muslim brothers, sisters and parents should also continue to promote and maintain peace by living in harmony with everyone.”

“Nothing fosters societal and individuals’ development and self-actualisation faster than a peaceful environment and being strong-willed. What unites us is as imperative as our faith. Religiosity is incomplete without tolerance and kindness towards others.”

The insurer of global repute felicitated with Muslims in the state and prayed that Almighty Allah will continue to nourish them and strengthen the state for the mass of her people.
