House of Assembly Majority Leader Warns Criminals to Steer Clear of Oyo State

Majority Leader,  Oyo State  House of Assembly,  Honourable Sanjo Adedoyin has warned criminals who have been terrorizing the state to steer clear as there will be no more hiding and breathing space for them in the state.

Hon. Adedoyin said with the passage of the Amotekun Bill and the consequent signing by the governor has brought an end to the nefarious activities of criminals in the state.

According to him, the passage and signing of the law by the governor signifies a declaration of war on criminals in the state and its environs, adding that the state is prepared to go to any legitimate length to ensure that criminals in the state have no breathing space.

“I want people to know that the essence of government is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens. So, we believe the people, farmers, traders, and all the people should be protected, hence the speedy passage of the Bill by the lawmakers.

“Our people can now move freely without fear of being attacked and molested by criminals because the passage and signing of the law is a declaration of war on criminals in the state,” Adedoyin added.

The Majority Leader who noted that the law shall guarantee the safety and security of the people and their property expressed confidence that the law would further enhance the profile of Oyo as the most peaceful state and preferred investment destination in the country.

“The success is a testament to the high premium we place on the security and welfare of the people and government.

The legislator who represents Ogbomoso South in the Assembly therefore, enjoined citizens and residents of the State to “adhere to the Spirit and Letter of the Law and respect the Amotekun personnel as they labour earnestly to protect them and the State.

While commending governor Seyi Makinde for the success of the security outfit, Hon. Adedoyin assured that all security apparatus the security personnel need for the exercise would be provided for action.

The legislator then urged the people to go about their lawful businesses without fear, just as he admonished them to cooperate with the Amotekun personnel.
