A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and gubernatorial aspirant in Osun State, Prince Albert Abiodun Adeogun has appealed to leaders and members of the party to cooperate with the Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi and all those saddled with the responsibility of reconciling the aggrieved members of the party to enable them reclaim their mandate starting with the governorship elections in Anambra and Osun States next year as well as the general elections of 2019.
Adeogujn, who is a member of the House Representatives, representing Ife Central Federal constituency, made the appeal in a press statement issued and made available to WESTERNPOST.
He said that he was impressed by the first step taken by the national chairman of the party as regards reconciliation, pointing out that it showed the sincerity and trait of a good leadership.
“Now that it has been affirmed by the Apex court that Senator Makarfi is the authentic national leader of the party, it behooves on us all to rally round him in order to achieve an holistic reconciliation among all of us,” stressing that the concept of no victor no vanquished should apply in order to shame the leadership of the All Progressives Congress which was pessimistic about the settlement of party’s conflict.
The parliamentarian warned that the leaders of APC were trying to do all they could to set the officers of PDP against one another in order to weaken the opposition against them, pleading with leaders of the party to resist the temptation of imposing candidates on the members.
He stressed that every step should be taken to promote internal democracy which would ensure total victory for the party in the next elections.
The House of Reps member further noted that the electorate in Osun State has been regretting voting for Governor Rauf Aregesola and the APC who have made life a hell for them due to denial of their rights, warning that the mistake must not be repeated.
