How Aviation Staff Brought Second COVID-19 Case to Akure

Ondo State recorded the second positive case of Coronavirus on Friday. It was brought to the state by a staff of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

According to sources, the aviation sector staff returned to Akure before the commencement of the total lockdown order in Lagos by the federal government.

The state’s Epidemiologist, Dr Stephen Fagbemi, confirmed the case to Western Post on Friday evening.

It was gathered further that the victim resides in Ijoka area of Akure and has been transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Government has confirmed the second case of Coronavirus in the state.

Commissioner for Health, Wahab Adegbenro, said the patient, a middle-aged man, lives at the Ijoka area of Akure, the state capital.

He said he had been transferred to the state Infectious Disease Hospital along Igbatoro Road, Akure, and all his family members are under quarantine.
