Human Rights Activist Tackles Bello Over Bad Roads In Lokoja

A Lokoja based Human rights activist and Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution, Comrade Idris Miliki Abdul has urged the Kogi State government to rehabilitate the road leading to the State House of Assembly, which is in a deplorable condition.

Abdul in a statement issued on Tuesday. stated that the road from Zone 8 Roundabout to the state House of Assembly is in  a sorry state that needs urgent repair.

He lamented that the all-important road hosted the Zone 8 Police Command Headquarters, Central Bank of Nigeria, state Headquarters of the State Security Services, state House of Assembly, Headquarters of the Judiciary, Customs, and Stadium.

He said: “It’s worry some for such important road could be left in such dilapidated condition. We call on the CBN through their social responsibilities to intervene in this embarrassing situation, the road is causing the institutions particularly the once own by the federal government.

“Now it’s the raining period the usual flooding have commenced subjecting the pupils, students, workers, residents, and taxpayers in the state to suffering condition.

“However, if nothing meaningful could be achieved by the state government and relevant institutions. We call on the people, to raise money through contribution to repair some of the worst portions on the road particularly, the front of the stadium.”
