A man in his late 50s, simply identified as Atere, who resides at Upper Gaa-Odota area of Ilorin in Ilorin West Local Government Area, gave up the ghost after having carnal knowledge of a yet-to-be-identified woman.
Atere, a husband to four wives, was said to have returned from Iseyin, Oyo State, where he visited one of his wives but could not bid the wife farewell before leaving for Ilorin to catch up with an alleged concubine who is presently on the run.
An eyewitness who spoke with WESTERN POST in Ilorin said Atere died in wee hours of Sunday, July 23, 2017 in an undisclosed hotel located along Adewole in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
According to the eyewitness, immediately late Atere returned to Ilorin, he borrowed one of his friends’ car to hook up with the unknown woman at the hotel. But he was said to have died after the sexual relationship with woman.
Our correspondent gathered that the said woman tip-toed out of the hotel room after the man could not breath, thus bolting away.
The eyewitness added that when the hotel staff expected both of them to check out but did not see them coming out, they went to the room only to find Atere’s lifeless body.
It was also gathered that the hotel service provider notified Adewole Police Division, who called the owner of the vehicle through the phone numbers on the car documents.
The late Atere was buried in accordance with Muslim rites early Monday morning.
Meanwhile, one of his daughters cried profusely, saying her father has been in the ‘sexual moves’ for a long time now as he is fond of addressing his concubine “Alasiri mi”.
Late Atere left behind a paralysed wife, motherless-turned-orphaned children among others .
