The All Progressives Congress, (APC), House of Representatives candidate for Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdul Kabir Adekunle Akinlade “Triple A’s”has debunked the statement credited to his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Hon. Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade who was alleged to have called him one of his boys.
The two Akinlade’s who bear the same surname coincidentally are not related.
While Abiodun Akinlade, who has been representing the area since 2003 is from Owode Yewa in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, the other Akinlade, who was the former Special Assistant on Taxation to Governor Ibikunle Amosun is from Agosasa in Ipokia Local Government Area.
Information went round the constituency on Monday that Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology in an interview addressed Adekunle as one of his boys.
Speaking with our correspondent in Oniro, Ward 2 in Ipokia, ‘Triple A’, as he is fondly called, declared that he can never be a boy to the federal lawmaker.
According to him, “Someone told me that Akinlade said I am his boy. I told the person that in 2003 when Abiodun was struggling to contest for the House of Reps, when he was looking for support then, I was already living in London. I left this country in 2000 to live in England and I have been driving posh cars then, so there is no way I could be his boy.
“When I came back to Nigeria in 2006, I established my own company, Cleveland Investment Management Limited, a wealth management firm which I have been running as the MD/CEO till date. So, I don’t know where and when I became Abiodun’s boy, those are the understatement that we must expect to see in politics.
“I am now forty five, I have seen all what I believe I should see. In that regard, I don’t think anything can change me now. I am already married, I have my children, live where I wish to live, have already drove the cars I want by the God Grace,” he said.
