Enyimba’s most recent signing, Christian Obiozor has told EnyimbaFC.net he joined the club in order to win titles.
The forward who joined the six-time champions on a season-long loan deal spoke exclusively to EnyimbaFC.net about his objectives after he was unveiled to fans in the stadium.
“Everybody knows Enyimba is the biggest club in the country,” began the 20-year-old. “As a player you want to win titles and play with the best players, that is why I came here. The club has won a lot already but I believe I can play a part and help them win more titles this season.”
Christian Obiozor, born in Anambra State in South-Eastern Nigeria revealed he had dreamt of playing for the Elephants as a young kid: “As a young player growing up I had dreamt of playing for the big teams in the country and dreamt of playing for Enyimba as well, so when I got a call that the club was interested in me, I didn’t hesitate to move down here to Aba and join the team,” he said.
Asked what he would bring to an already formidable Enyimba team; “I will score goals,” he answered. “I will work hard and I will score goals because goals win matches and at the end of the day, it is winning matches that matters. I’ll do what the coaches ask me to do on the pitch and help the team in every way I can.”
On his relationship with his new team mates, the forward said he’s having a great time with everyone. “It’s a new team, new players, new environment, but everyone has treated me well and welcomed me so everything in the camp is good. I can say I’m having a great time with my new teammates and coaches.”
Obiozor is yet to don the colours of Enyimba in a competitive game, but he says it’s for good reason. “You know I am new here, so I need to train with the team properly, but the thing is, I am going to play very soon. I have been working hard in training and once the coaches give me the go ahead, I will play.”
The forward will wear the number 12 jersey.
