The Former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has pledged to open up economy to create employment opportunities for the teaming youths in the country if given the mandate.
Abubarka who made this known while fielding question from Journalists during his consultation visit to solicit for votes from Kogi PDP delegates in Lokoja for forthcoming Party Primaries.
The Vice President explained that if given the mandate to rule Nigeria in 2019 he would open up economy to allow both foreign and domestic investors to open up irrespective where they come from different part of the world.
This step, he said would create employment opportunities for the youths, noting that the present administration has soaked up the economy hence the rate of unemployment is on increase.
While reacting to the issue of Card Reader, the former vice president pointed out that issue is before the National Assembly, stressing that the stakeholders had tasked the members of National Assembly to do the needful.
He stressed the Electoral Act had taken care of the card reader, adding that it will be resolved because is still a provision there and believing that National Assembly will insist on the use of card reader.
On Inland waterways, Abubarka maintained that the government need explore the God given potentials, adding that in those days the ships used to sail from the South to as far as Yola, but now it is not so.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government must be serious about water transportation to boost Nigeria economy.
