Chairman, Community Chest Council, Oyo State, Ambassador Olusola Olagunju has called for total commitment from members of the association to enable them discharge their duties to people of the state, especially as the council prepares for its March 23, rally in Ibadan.
Olagunju made the call during the council meeting held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Secretariat, Ibadan.
According to her, the rally is part of measures to create more awareness on the activities of Community Chest Council to the people of the state and beyond .
The theme of the rally is: “Say no to violence, thuggery, drug and cultism against person living with disabilities.”
She added that stakeholders and the media would be involved in the exercise in order to make the rebranding of the organisation appeal to the people and government of the state.
Olagunju said the rally will take off from Mokola roundabout down to the office of the state governor at the Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking during the presentation of an Advisory Committee Report to Ambassador Olagunju, Chairman of the Advisory Council, Kehinde Akinyemi said there is the need for government to motivate and encourage collaboration of NGOs in the state to make them function properly.
He also stressed the need for NGOs to embark on courtesy visit to stakeholders, media organisations, government agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders among others.
