Ibarapa : Oyo Speaker Moves To Inaugurate Joint Security Task Force

The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Edward Ogundoyin has assured the people of Ibarapa East that he will explore all avenues to stem the spate of insecurity in Ibarapa land.

Hon. Ogundoyin gave the assurance at a youth summit he organized at the Eruwa town hall to give an account of his stewardship to the youths and the people of his constituency while he assured them of more dividend of democracy before the end of his administration.

Hon. Ogundoyin said he will inaugurate a Joint Security Task Force in Ibarapa Land, adding that he will present the proposal to Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Speaker maintained that the proposed joint security task force will allow all stakeholders to work together to protect lives and property of the people.

He also promised to discuss with appropriate authority to ensure total rehabilitation of Eruwa-Igbo road which has become a danger zone for kidnappers to perpetuate their evil act.

Hon. Ogundoyin further highlighted operation light up Oyo State as part of security measures embarked on by the state government, adding that every nook and cranny of the state including Eruwa and Lanlate will be illuminated to guarantee safety.

“This Summit is not organized for political reason, rather, it is to interact with one another, to chart a way forward on the challenges facing us as a people. It is an avenue for us to intimate and develop strategies and policies to improve the living standard of our people.

“It is also a way for every elected officeholder to return back home and tell the people that gave them mandate situation report.

“It is my belief that security is fundamental, it is a pillar in which success of every other sector rests on. That is why we make it open to everyone to have input irrespective of political party affiliation.

“We have listened to all suggestions, advice and recommendation from different groups. I want to assure you all that your recommendations will form part of our policies.

“The present administration under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde will continue to give necessary support to our security agencies to ensure they give their best to protect the lives and property of the people,” the Speaker said.

Responding to questions on health and employment for people living with disability, Hon. Ogundoyin stated explain that  he and other lawmakers were behind the inclusion of people living with disability in the caretaker committee members of each local government.
