ICPC Observes Poor Execution, Supervision of Constituency Projects in Ilorin

The Constituency Projects Tracking operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have observed poor project construction of some Constituency projects in Kwara Central Senatorial District.

The projects are blocks of classrooms at Abata Baba Oyo L.G.E.A primary school, Anifowose, Ilorin.

The observation was made while tracking projects executed between 2015 and 2019 at the total contracts sum of valued at N4.1 billion spread across the three Senatorial Districts of the state on Thursday and Friday respectively.

The ICPC operatives observed leakage in the roof of the block of classroom and said if the projects were adequately supervised it would not have turned out that way.

Other tracked Projects under Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) were Baboko LGEA primary school,Ilorin in Ilorin West Local government Area the operatives checked for semblance of Blocks of classroom construction and supplies of furniture under 2016 constituency projects.

Others are Ilorin Grammar School for blocks of classrooms and furniture under 2018 constituency project.

The operatives also expressed displeasure over poor quality of the furniture supplied to Abata Baba Oyo L.G.E.A primary school, Anifowose, Ilorin.

The exercise commenced on Tuesday 23rd June, 2020 in 16 states, namely: Cross River, Taraba, Ekiti, Ogun, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Jigawa, Abia, Delta, Ebonyi, Niger, Rivers, Oyo, and Kaduna, with a focus on the following sectors: Health, Education, Water Resources, Agriculture, and Power.
