Ido LG Chairman Assures Residents Of Dividends Of Democracy

The Chairman, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, Sherif Adeojo has assured the people of the council area of more meaningful development and dividend of democracy under his administration.

The council boss gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected councillors in the ten wards of the local government.

According to him, the people of the grassroots should be expecting more meaningful development and dividends of democracy now that they have democratically elected chairmen and councilors in all the 33 council in the state.

“I want to assure the residents of  Ido Local  Government to be expecting various peoples oriented  developmental projects according to their demands,” he said.

Adeojo while commending the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for conducting a free and fair local government election, also thanked him for the opportunity he gave him to serve as caretaker chairman at the Omi Apata LCDA and now as the duly elected chairman of the council.

He appealed to the people of the council to continue to support and cooperate with the present administration in the state in order to enable the government to deliver dividend of democracy to them.

Adeojo also thanked the party chairman and leader and other members of the council for their cooperation, assuring that members of the council will soon smile.

In their goodwill messages, the PDP chairman and party leader in the council, Chief Akinsola Ayuba and Alhaji Muili  Yusuf admonished the people to be patient,  support and cooperate with the council chairman and the administration of governor Seyi Makinde in order to move the state forward and deliver to them dividends of democracy.

The newly sworn-in Principal officers and members of the legislative council include: Hon. Abidoye Tirimisiyu (ward 6) Leader of the House, Hon. Rafiu Omotoso (ward 3) Deputy Leader, Hon.Yahya AbdulAzeez (ward 4) Majority Leader, Hon. Joseph Oyedele (ward 9) Minority Leader, Hon.Adebowale Adedeji (ward 7) Chief Whip.

Others are Hon Julius Akanji (ward 1), Hon. Yekini Suleiman (ward 2), Hon. Wasiu Oladokun (ward 5), Hon. Akeem Lateef (ward 8) and Hon. Abioye Oyekunle (ward 10).
