Sherif Adeojo Wins Ido Chairmanship Seat

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Sherif Aderemi Adeojo has emerged winner of the Ido local government election held on Wednesday in Oyo State.

With the victory, the party now has the 33  local governments occupied by PDP Chairmen.

Adeojo polled 19,744 votesnto emerge victorious while the second runner-up, Zenith Labour Party, polled 637.

The ADC polled 122 votes, APGA 57, Accord  28, PPA 26, PRP 20, ADP 13, NRM 16.

The Returning Officer, Dr. Mabayoje Emmanuel from the University of Ibadan while presenting the election result at the OYSIEC office, said the PDP scored the PDP  the highest votes and was declared the winner.

Declaring  Adeojo as the winner, the OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju said the commission deemed it fit to deliver free, fair and credible election in line with the mandate given by the state governor.
