The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) has declared total support for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Engineer Musa Wada, in the forthcoming November 2019 governorship election in the state.
The group enjoined all sons, daughters and all the well-meaning citizens of Kogi State to follow this resolution which is in the interest of the people of the state.
This resolution was contained in a communique issued at the end of the meeting of ICDA Executive Council of Kogi State chapter, copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Friday.
The group lamented that the Igala nation had been sidelined at the National and state levels in all fronts and positions, stressing that Igala nation has become a laughing stock and object of ridicule within and outside the state.
ICDA also noted that there with dismay that the publications emanating from some Ebira persons have led credence to these with attendance insults and derogatory in the face of the current political situation leading to November 2019 gubernatorial election.
“That we, the Igala people take very seriously the insults and insinuations contained in the said publications both in social and other media. We, therefore, called on the leadership of Ebira to urgently renounce , disown and dissociate themselves from such and subsequently caution their sons and daughters against such provocative utterances as these publications are capable of heating up the polity , causing crisis , unnecessary acrimony and engendering peaceful co-existence among other people.
The communique added that in the face of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state the ICDA members are of the firm believe that the election should be free, fair and contest should be open to all eligible citizens of Kogi State.
The group, therefore, posited that performance must be important criteria for winning election globally for the power, stressing that performance indices have eluded Kogi since past in past four years.
That on that basis of this evidence of poor performance by APC led administration that he should not have been given a ticket for the second term.
