The Obong Iberedem Akwa Ibom in Oyo State, Edidem Etim Bassey Akanyak (ARSM) has vowed never to sacrifice the people of Akwa Ibom to anybody as long as he lives.
The monarch made the point at the second coronation of Akwa Ibom Youth leaders into some communities in Ibadan on Saturday.
According to him, “I will continue to speak for Akwa Ibom people and also carry them to a greater height where God has destined.
“I will never sacrifice Akwa Ibom to anybody and I will not die, i am here for Akwa Ibom and I will continue to speak for Akwa Ibom. I promise to carry the tribe to where God has destined”
Obong Akanyak urged the youths, especially the new youth leaders to be good ambassadors in their respective areas in order to ensure peace and progress reigns supreme among them.
” I appealed to all of you to be of good conduct, character and as well be disciplined in order to create a good name for the state in your respective communities and where ever you find yourselves.
The monarch while urging the people to create a good name for Akwa Ibom assured them that he will continue to be a good father to them all, just as he called for the cooperation of the people.
“I will continue to speak for Akwa Ibom and I promise to carry the tribe to where God has destined.
In his speech, the youth leader, comrade Dr. Udoro Efre thanked the youths for allowing peace reign among them in their communities. He also called for more cooperation among them to strengthen the existing relationship and peace among them.
He charges the new officers to be up and doing in order to justify the essence of their appointment as leaders.
Dr Efre also thanked the Obong for identifying with the youths, assuring that they will be good ambassadors in order to uphold Akwa Ibom heritage in their respective areas.
Some of the communities in Ibadan which got new youth leaders include Sango, Apata, Omi Adio, Orita challenge, Agbowo and Inalende communities.
