A legislator representing Ibadan South West 2 Constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Oluwafowokanmi Adebayo has reiterated the commitment of his administration to improve the standard of primary schools in his area and also fulfill the promises he made during his electioneering campaign.
He gave the assurance during the celebration of his 100 days in office and the inauguration of his constituent office, named Honourable Oluwafowokanmi Better Life Foundation Service Centre, Oke Bola, Ibadan on Tuesday.
Addressing journalists at the programme, the lawmaker who is the Chairman House Committee on Education said, “The 100 days celebration in the office is to review one of the promises we made to our people that we are going to open for them a constituency office to serve them well.
“This is Seyi Makinde’s government, a government that is working assiduously to meet with the yearnings of the people and move the state forward. Likewise, we the lawmakers need to work hard to make things right and to move the state forward”
Hon. Oluwafowokanmi said he has within the first 100 days fixed some roads in Oluyole Estate and other areas in his constituency adding that plans are on to commence renovation of public primary schools in his area.
The legislator while assuring his people of prompt delivery of dividend of democracy also called for their support and cooperation to enable him to achieve success and bring development to the area.
According to him, plans are on to bring standard back to the primary school system which had long been neglected in other to make it function properly.
“There are 75 primary schools in south-west including the school I attended, Oluyole IMG Molete, work has started in my school and it will go round from one to the other by the grace of God.
“Public primary schools have been neglected for years and this has affected its standard. It is one of my major focus to give a new face, quality and perfection to primary education, and we are already working on it”
He said work on the project will be faster now that he has been made Chairman House Committee on Education.
Hon Oluwafowokanmi said another area he is working on is the security of his area adding that plans are on to fix inter-community gates to prevent hoodlums from attacking his people overnight.
