An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a father, Solomon Obafemi, 53, for allegedly killing his own son, Victor.
A second person, Richard Obafemi, 20, was also remanded in prison.
The prosecutor, Inspector Balikis Adu, told the court that the accused conspired together with Richard who was a brother to the deceased to commit the act.
Adu said the accused used a machete to inflict cuts on the head of the deceased, resulting in his death on April 7 at Kilanko area of Ilorin.
She said that the accused killed the deceased on the allegation that he was a trouble maker.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to charges against them, reports the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The prosecutor said the accused were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code Law.
She objected to the bail application of the accused on the ground that the alleged offences were not ordinarily bailable.
Magistrate Noah Ajide ordered the remand of the accused at Okekura prison in Ilorin and adjourned the case till April 25 for mention.
