Senator Solomon Adeola aka Yahyi representing Lagos West has again opened on his gubernatorial ambition, saying he is still in the race for the governorship of Ogun State in 2019.
He said by electing to run, he was answering Ogun people’s call for service.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker denied insinuations that he has opted out of the race.
A statement by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, said the senator never, during his empowerment programme in Badagry on Tuesday, said he was no longer running for governor.
The statement said he told his Lagos West constituents to prepare for the eventual official declaration to run for Ogun governor.
“I do not take your generosity and magnanimity lightly and I hope I have not disappointed in these public offices that you entrusted in me through your mandate. My dear people from Ogun State are earnestly yearning for my service as I have demonstrated here in the only “Centre of Excellence” in Nigeria.”
Adeola said as a grassroots politician, who believed in the power of the people to decide, he will continue his consultation and officially make a public declaration to run for governor in Ogun State soon.”
