The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the certificate of return to the winner of last Saturday Governorship elections, Governor Yahaya Bello and his running mate, Edward Onaga.
The Presentation which took place at Professor Mahmood hall, INEC Headquarters in Lokoja on Thursday saw the hall filled with All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters and admirers.
Presenting the certificate of return to the Governor and Deputy Governor-elect Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja, the National Commissioner in Charge f Niger, Kogi and Kwara States said the presentation of the certificate of return signified the new beginning.
He stated that in keeping with tradition to award certificate of return to those who won to the election, stressing that commission is at last stage of electoral process handing certificate return to the Governor and his Deputy.
He explained that INEC will continue to be here do what commission knows how to do best.
Responding after receiving Certificate, Governor Yahaya Bello stated that today marks the beginning of the second term in office, saying that the is last time he will be receiving Certificate as governor of Kogi State.
Bello stated the victory at just concluded polls is a wonderful success, stressing this could not make possible without God.
Bello who admitted that there were pockets of violence during the last Saturday Election, Stressing that he will partner with police to fish out all the perpetrator of heinous Crime.
He commended the people of Kogi State for turning out in their large numbers to vote and return him as governor for the second term.
The Inter-Party Advisory council who was represented by Ibrahim Itodo urged the governor-elect, Yahaya Bello to commence fence-mending immediately to move the state forward.
