Insecurity: Islamic Scholar Tasks Parents, Guardians On Child Training

Parents and guardians have been admonished to train and tame their children to avoid falling into the trap that will further trigger the kind of horror being witnessing today in the name of insurgency.

The guest speaker, Professor Muhammad S. Abubakar Alkafawy gave this warning while speaking at the 1441 Hijah celebration organized by the Kogi State  Council of Ulamas at Lokoja Township Stadium on Saturday.

Professor Alkafawy explained that parents must follow all the laid down procedures and guidelines for child training and upbringing.

“By the time their mouth opens they should be introduced to the recitation of the Quran, to be followed by accompanying their parents to the mosque as gradually and regularly as possible until they pick up.

“Attending Quranic school should continue to until attaining the age of formal education when they will be enrolled. A child should continue to receive instruction from both schools, Islamiyyah and western education. The trend now that some schools particularly private are now operating dual curricula for the programs,”he stressed.

The Islamic scholar stressed further that the curricula should be pursed to the correctly up to tertiary level, stating that parents should know the kind of knowledge imparted to their children and know who their friends are.

He told parents that they will be invited to render account for each of their children, noting that it will be futile to argue that they are unable to take care proper care of the children because of the large size.

The Scholar pointed out that security expert has posited that insurgency is thriving because of the large number of youths that are out of school or unemployed.

He, therefore, urged the government to introduce new employment policy where its ministries and parastatals , companies and private organization would absorb the substantial number of youths.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Occasion and former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Abdullahi Bello congratulated the Muslim Umah for witness another Hijah 1441.

Bello called on the Muslim faithful to steady fast in the worship of Allah, saying Allah is the only supreme being that takes care of all and sundries.
