Installation of Balogun Apomu: Obasanjo Sues for Peace in Owu Kingdom

Former President, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo has sued for peace in Owu Kingdom. Chief Obasanjo who also doubled as Balogun of Owu and Balogun in general, stated this on Tuesday at the Olowu of Owu palace, during the official installation of Balogun of Apomu Owu kingdom.

He said Owu kingdom happened to be one of the first settlers in Abeokuta and in the history of Owu Kingdom Apomu, the Erunmu quarters cannot be neglected as they play a vital in the annual celebration of Owu festival (Odun Omo Olowu).

He said Owu kingdom remains the most peaceful and accommodating quarters in Egbaland, stating that if there is any crisis in Owu quarters, it means that the whole Owu kingdom is in trouble.

While appreciating everyone for their support by allowing peace in Apomu land and its environs, he said the octogenarian has nothing to do than to be praying for peace, love, and unity.

His Royal Majesty Oba (Barr.) Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye Towulade of Akinale-Owu and Chief Ishola Akinsipo, Akogun of Owu kingdom appreciated the entire sons and daughters of Apomu Owu for allowing peace to reign in the kingdom.

He said Apomu is one and should demonstrate love with one another.

Chief Ishola Akinsipo Akogun of Owu said the conferment of chieftains title to chief Babatunde Fakeye as Balogun of Apomu Owu kingdom was to overseas the affairs of Apomu Owu in councils”

He added that the chieftains are not related to secret cults.

He explained further, “He the greatest secret cult on heart is a cult of matrimony, secret between husband and wife’s that is not known to the children and relatives.”

Also, explained that cult is a secret of what you know and what others don’t know. In his remark, Chief Babatunde Fakeye Balogun of Apomu Owu kingdom thanked the Balogun of Owu kingdom for the title bestowed on him and also using him to settle the communal crisis in Apomu.
