The recently concluded House of Representatives primary elections of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State has been described as the manifestation of enriched internal democracy and an eye opener that the era of imposition has gone for good in the party polity.
Barrister Moses Wale Osinubi a.k.a Otunba Wesco disclosed this shortly after he was declared winner for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency in Ijebu Ode, noting that people are wiser by using their votes to chose who should represent them at all levels of governance.
Osinubi garnered a total of 50 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Oluwafemi Odusanya, who polled 43 votes in a keenly contested primary election.
Other contestants were; Olugboyega Kukoyi, Kehinde Okunnuga and Muideen Salami who polled 29, four and one vote respectively.
“The outcome of the primary elections has shown that our people are now wiser in choosing only those who they believe would give them quality representation.
”It has also shown that power belongs to the people and internal democracy is working in our party, the PDP” Otunba Wesco submitted.
He called on the other aspirants who lost to eschew bitterness and join hands to work together for the success of the party at the forthcoming general election in 2015.
He also, enjoined the electorate to come out en-masse to vote for the PDP at the forthcoming elections.
