The freed pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mr. Otamayomi Ogedengbe was singing ‘’I have left everything to God’’ when Western Post correspondent paid him an unscheduled visit at his residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Tuesday.
He regained freedom after spending seven days in the custody of his abductors.
The pastor expressed his gratitude to God Almighty, journalists, Muslim community, the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN) and all well-wishers who stood by him .and his family during the travail.
“I want to appreciate journalists in particular for putting my abductors on toes the moment it was reported that I was kidnapped.
“I am highly grateful as well to the Muslims and Christians and all church members home and abroad.
“I have left everything to God Almighty. Even my abductors, I left them to God. He knows the right thing to do at a particular time,” he said.
When asked whether ransom was paid, he refused to comment.
“I have no comment on the issue of ransom paid but what I know is that, there is God,” he added.
It was gathered that Ogedengbe was released by his abductors after payment of a huge amount of money to secure his freedom by his family.
A source close to the family disclosed that Church, family members and friends contributed a huge amount of money to pay the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
