The Creator of Senwele Yoruba music genre, Iya Aladuke, whose real name is Alhaja Hawawu Alake Adisa, a living legend is now 85 years old, and arrangements are now in top gear to celebrate the woman celebrity in a big way. Iya Aladuke made Senwele Yoruba music genre popular with its unique music, beats and songs usually weaned on sensible meaning-laden lyrics and driven by coordinated percussion of different genres.
The artiste also celebrated the Yoruba music, arts and culture of the Yoruba personage in all its ramifications.
Some of her hit albums are “Won Ni Asewo Niwa”, “Olojowu”, “Emu Number”, “Correct Orin I & II”, “Wonderful”, “Experience”, “Vocabulary”, “Fake Alarm”, “Iyale Okan”, “Unity-Isokan”, “Face-To-Face”, “Talojebi”, “Gboko- Gboko”, “Ilu le”, “Ti Oko Lase” among others.
Towards this end, on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 12 noon to 9 pm, Iya Aladuke will be celebrated at Top One Garden Events Centre, Podo Village, Ibadan., Nigeria, an outfit owned by Mr. Solomon Ojedayo.
According to the show promoter, Mr. Babatunde Agboola-Alubarika of TASCO Music Promotions, Nigeria & Overseas, the artistes billed to add glamour, fun and glitz to the event are Wasiu Alabi Pasuma (Oganla), Taiye Currency, Mukaila Senwele, Kunle Trophy and Tiri Trophy among others. The event will be supported by International Breweries, (Brewers of Trophy a.k.a Honourable and other products). Ilesa, State of Osun.
Asked about the secret of her youthful look, Iya Aladuke said: “I have been drinking Trophy (Honourable-Sugar Free) since 1970 and plentiful cups of water to balance it up. That’s the secret of my outlook.”
