Barely one month after signing a peace accord, President Jonathan and his All Progressives Congress challenger, General Muhammadu Buhari, has signed another peace accord in Abuja.
The accord was signed after a closed-doors meeting between the two candidates.
The newest peace accord was signed under the guidance of former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s peace committee. It was to review the first accord.
Nine other parties also signed the accord. Alaos present at the occasion was Catholic Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah.
President Jonathan and Buhari were accompanied to the venue of the signing by their respective party chairmen-Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu for PDP and Chief John Odigie-Oyegun for APC-.
Speaking after the signing of the accord, Abubakar urged the two candidates to work by the spirit of the accord.
