Members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and Nigeria Bar Association(NBA) on Thursday blocked the convoy of Osun state Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi during a protest.
The two bodies are demanding for the full implementation of financial autonomy of the judiciary.
The protesters took off from the State High Court, Oke-Fia and marched through the Customary Court to the State House of Assembly at Gbongan/Osogbo road.
At about 11:20am, when members of the two unions were marching to the Government Secretariat, the convoy of the Deputy Governor ran into the protesters but was blocked with placards and banners.
The deputy governor’s security personnel appealed to the protesters to give way to no avail, thereby forcing the convoy to move with the protesters.
The convoy later managed to escape at the Petrol Station close to the State Government Secretariat, Abere when the vehicles entered through the first entrance of the filling station and exit through the second gate.
