The Coalition of civil society, activists, and the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) in Osun State on Saturday stormed Osogbo, the State capital to celebrate this year’s democracy day in remembrance of the annulment of 1993 general election won by Chief MKO Abiola.
They held a massive rally against insecurity and unemployment in Nigeria.
The groups armed with different placards with inscriptions like: Return my Twitter; Nigerian youths are not lazy, Buhari must go; Resign if you are tired – Buhari; Restructure Nigeria Now; among others.
The groups had gathered at Oke-Fia in Osogbo around 8am.
Men of the DSS, Police, JTF, Amotekun and other local operatives were present at the venue of the protest.
It would be recalled that NANS president, Sunday Asefon, in a statement on Friday suspended its planned June 12 nationwide protest.
But the chairman NANS JCI in Osun, Comrade Oyelayo Afeez who led his members to the protest ground said they joined in the protest because the situation of the country is unbearable to leave in.
