Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar announced Sunday night that his son had tested positive for coronavirus.
Atiku made this known via his verified Twitter handle.
He tweets: “My son has tested positive to Coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real.”
Atiku thus became the first top politician to suffer such a fate, thus further bringing home the reality of the global pandemic.
First Lady Hajia Aisha Buhari had earlier treated that her daughter had gone into self-isolation after she returned from the UK as a precautionary measure.
