Rather than reduce in influence and potency, interest groups in Lagos State are burgeoning and getting strengthened in the scheme of things.
This is as it emerged on Wednesday that Alhaji Enilolobo Ayinde, a crony of former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has been appointed Chairman of the Mandate Movement in the state.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to WESTERN POST sources.
Mandate Group has been on the ascendancy in Lagos following the demise of the Justice Forum.
Enilolobo was appointed at an emergency meeting in Lagos chaired by Ogbeni Aregbesola.
He had taken over the Mandate Group machinery after Ogbeni headed for Osun as governor.
In attendance at the meeting were the Senator representing Lagos West, Senator Adeola Yayi, his counterpart from Lagos East, Senator Bayo Osinowo, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Cardinal Odunbaku popularly called Baba Eto and many other dignitaries.
The appointment of Enilolobo is with a view to repositioning the Mandate Movement in the state.
