The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Undie Adie, has allayed the fears of residents of Ejigbo in Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state following the killing of two persons in the town within four days.

The residents of the town have been living in palpable fear as a result of the manner in which the two were killed. They fingered ritualists behind the act.

It was gathered that two indigenes of Ejigbo were killed in their homes within one week, a development that has been causing apprehension in the town.

On July 5, 2020, around 6:45 pm, it was gathered that a 50-year-old man, Musibau Muraina, was reportedly dumped after his abdomen had been cut off in his  Oya Compound, Ejigbo.

The second person, a woman, Misratu Azeez, 45, was said to have also been found dead at Olori’s compound, Ejigbo, around 10:30 am on July 8, 2020. The deceased was said to have been injured in the forehead.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the killing of the two persons.

She disclosed that one Bamidele Aboderin had been arrested in connection with the last murder in the town.

She said the commissioner had directed a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killings.

According to Opalola, “The Commissioner of Police has directed a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the two incidents. We are also intensifying patrol around the area. The perpetrators will not escape justice.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Local Government, Mr. Teslim Ogunmola, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the town.
