The Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Taufiq Isa has debunked rumour of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) arrest of Administrator, Directors of Local Government (DLG) and Treasurers of the association.
He called on the general public to discard the social media rumour.
In a swift reaction, Isah in a chat with newsmen on the issue of autonomy granted to local government areas of the state, said the state governor, Yahaya Bello has directed the full compliance and implementation of autonomy in the state.
Isah who is the ALGON Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu LGA, denied the rumors making the round that some Administrators, DLGs and Treasures are in the custody of the EFCC and ICPC.
He explained that ALGON is not aware of the invitation by EFCC or arrest of any official of the Kogi State, describes the speculation as nothing but fallacy, said it should be disregarded.
He, therefore, called on workers in the 21 local government areas to be patient as the governor has already directed the immediate payment of full salaries in accordance to the autonomy, adding that the payment would soon commence.
