Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC), has returned President Muhammadu Buhari as the Flag bearer of the Party after the conduct of direct primaries ahead of 2019 general election.
The Returning Officer for the direct primaries n Kogi State and the Former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Abdullahi Bello who announced the result stated that in direct primaries across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state on Friday, President Buhari scored a total of 387,003 votes.
According to him, election election was conducted in peaceful atmosphere without any rancour among the party faithful.
The former federal lawmaker pointed out that the President scores as follows in each of the 21 Local Government Area.
Adavi 29,228, Ajaokuta 42718, Ankpa 14,580, Dekina 15925, Ibaji11,291, Idah 6,703, Igalamela 6,911, Ijumu 20,420, Kabba/Bunu 26,817, Kogi 5,505, Lokoja 11,617, Mopamuro 6,321.
Others are Ofu 11,617 ,Ogori /Magongo 12,406crisis, i 28123,Okene 21860,Olamaboro 30,759 and host of others.
Speaking after the announcement of the result, the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello commended the electoral committee for job well done, stressing the result has demonstrated that the state is for President Buhari come 2019.
He commended the returning officer for the peaceful conduct of the direct primaries in the state, calling on the party loyalists work hard for the subsequent primaries for the Senators, House of Representatives members and House of Assembly members.
Bello warned that the remaining primary elections should be devoid of crisis, saying that the Party is battle ready to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party again in Kogi State.
