Ahead of November 2, 2019 governorship election in Kogi State, the traditional Rulers, custodians of culture, men and women, old and young, youths and other critical stakeholders in the 57 wards in the 5 Local Government Areas of Kogi Central have drummed support for Governor Yahaya Bello for second term.
The support came on the heel of the stakeholders meeting held at Governments House in Lokoja, the State capital on Monday, the traditional rulers vowed to continue to support the present administration in view of the numerous achievement of the government.
The Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Abubarka Ohere explained that that people of grassroot level have been agitating to dialogue with the governor to ruminate on silent issues.
“This why you see all the traditional rulers, custodians of our culture, men and women, youths young and old and other critical stakeholders in Kogi Central Senatorial District have gathered together to drum support for Governor Yahaya Bello for second term in office.
“They have openly pledged their solidarity for continuity. This is because they have appreciated the numerous achievements of of the present administration in the last three years in Kogi State,” he noted.
Ohere pointed out that Governor Yahaya Bello has laid a very solid foundation for infrastructural development.
He noted that he with completion of 2nd largest Rice mill in Ejiba, the Omi dam for rice production, Kogi is ready to produce 50 million tons of rice on daily basis.
The Governor aide added those that have been condemning the administration ,what have they done in the last 25 years ,pointing out that Governor Yahaya Bello is the most untribalized man that appoint aides across the three senatorial districts.
Responding ,the Governor of Kogi State , Alhaji Yahaya Bello commended the traditional rulers from the 57 wards in the Central district for their support and and endorsement for second term.
Bello therefore warned parents in Kogi Central to warn their children to desist from peddling misinformation, say some of them are distributing fake documents about the government.
The Governor said that the present administration will not hesitate to decisively with anyone found wanting.
“Anybody who need information from the government activities ,there is bureau of Information and grassroot and there Tao FM, any attempt to disparage the government activities”, he said.
