…As ALGON Boss Orgarnises Prayers for Gov Quick Recovery

It was yet anther sad day for the people at the corridor of power as the news filtered out that the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Honourable Edward Onoja cheated death when he was allegedly involved in a road crash along Abuja–Lokoja highway.
This came barely one week after the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello involved in a motor accident in Lokoja, which places his left foot on plaster cast, his Chief of Staff,.
Governor Yahaya Bello last week Thursday in Lokoja along Old market while on his way from Abuja involved in self accident when he wanted to spray money while his car was in motion.
It was gathered that the Chief of Staff .Edward Onoja and his wife and a small baby were in the car when the accident occurred.
Source close to Government House Lokoja disclosed told newsmen on Friday that the accident occurred shortly after Abaji at about 5 pm when the Chief of Staff was returning from Abuja.
It was learnt that Edward Onoja’s Lexus Jeep swerved off the road and crashed into the bush living him his wife unconscious while the baby was unhurt.
It was further revealed that motorist passing by had to stop to assist the victims from the wrecked vehicle as the Jeep was said to have summersulted several times before a big tree waged the Jeep.
It was also gathered that effort were made by the rescuers to on trapped the victims as they were trapped by the seat belt.
However, members of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were quickly called to scene for rescued mission by some good Samaritan.
The source said Edward Onoja, his wife and the baby were rushes to a private hospital in Abuja.
However, the Sector Commander of FRSC Kogi State Command Mr. Segun Martins when contacted said the area is not within his territory.
The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Kogi state chapter, Ahaji Taufiq Isa and hundreds of Muslims joined him to pray for the quick recovery of the Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
The prayer which was organized yesterday was led by the Chief Imam of Odokoro-Gbede, Sheikh, Alhaji Shaidu Arikeuyo, immediately after the two rakat jumaat prayer today.
According to Arikeuyo, “It is always good for Muslims to pray for the wellbeing of fellow citizens, he quoted verses of the Holy Quran to buttress his point, prayed that Allah would hasten the recovery of our leaders,espeially our who was involved in a minor accident.
“The Governor shall surpassed all the difficulties and trying moment,and will be healed by the power of Almighty Allah”, he said.
