Kogi State Government has commenced the delivery of drugs worth several millions of naira to the victims of flooding in the nine affected local government areas of the state.
The Special Adviser on Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Abubarka Ohere who flagged off administration of drugs to the victims at the IDP camp at St Pius Primary School, Koton Karfe, said that the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was concerned about the well-being of the Internally Displaced People (IDP).
The Special Adviser who was represented by the Permanent Secretary ,Mr. Usman Dan Victor expressed sympathy with the flood victims as they lost their homes and farm lands, noting that Governor Yahaya Bello will continue to improve on the health delivery system of the State in order to the health need of the people.
He also lauded the efforts of the 21 local government areas for putting their resources together in purchasing the drugs for the victims of the flood, expressing gratitude to the donor for coming to the aid of the flood victims
The leader of medical team, Dr Gabriel Enefu explained that the team with will travel to all affected nine local government areas to deliver the free drugs and medical check up to the victims, adding that they will provide water treatment drugs, treated mosquito nets and various to the victims.
In his remarks, the Administrator of Koton Karfe, Local government area, Honourable Mohammed Tanko expressed gratitude to the State government for providing the drugs to the victims, assuring the the governor of the people’s support at all times.
Earlier at his Palace, Ohimege igu of Koton Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto thanked the state government for flagging off the programme in his domain.
