Kogi: Court Sentence Man to 18 Months in Prison

A Federal High Court Lokoja sitting in Lokoja has sentenced one Mr Richard  John Abdullaahi to 18 months in prison with hard labour for unlawful possession of fire arms.

Justice D.U. Okorowo  who gave the judgement had found the accused person guilty of the offence under miscellaneous act.

The Kogi State Public Relation Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Alex Agiri, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday when the command secured the court judgment.

Agiri explained  the command arrested the convict when they were on routine patrol  beside Mountain of Fire Church Phase II in Lokoja.

The NSCDC PRO stated that, the convict during cross examination by its counsel
E.S Onu, pleaded not guilty when he was charged under miscellaneous offence act.

Agiri added that, the NSCDC, Kogi State Command remains committed towards protecting critical infrastructures in the country stressing that, they will continue to collaborate with other security agencies towards protecting lives and properties in the state.
