Kogi Police Command has disclosed that it has not recovered any suicide note by late Senior civil servant, Mr Edward Soje who committed suicide by hanging last weekend.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Ali Janga who disclose this while briefing the newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, said the police was not aware of suicide note.
Janga who was represented by the Police Public Relation Officer, Mr William Aya ,explained that the Army Authority in Lokoja alerted the Police Command about the alleged suicide action taken by Late Edward Soje.
He stated the Police went to the scene of the incident and removed the corpse and deposited at Federal Medical Centre for autopsy.
The Commissioner pointed out that police investigation however revealed that late Soje had a record of partial stroke.
He called on General Public to allow the police carry out thorough investigation,adding that they should disregard the rumour making the round.
However the partial stroke developed by the decease might not be unconnected with issue of non payment of his salary.
Late Soje was said to have broke to extent he could not afford to by drugs for the ailments.
Meanwhile the police command has disclosed that it has established a direct contact with the family of the deceased,stressing that this will help police in its investigations.
“Only two weeks ago God has blessed him with triplets after 17 years of marriage. In a nutshell the police has not recovered any suicide”.
The sudden death of 54 year old Director has continued to generate reactions and counter reactions in the State since weekend.
