He noted that this is a major base of the party and that the rally was an auspicious sign that Kogi voters are subscribing to  the governor’s re-election quest.

Ohikere said the new direction government had always heeded the wise counsel of the Attah and other chiefs of the Kogi state council of chiefs, and that there is strong and surging APC membership in that axis.

Ohikere, disclosed to newsmen after the rally, that this is all signs that Kogi East has succumbed to the Bello and Onoja mandate.

He said, ” you can see the crowd that thronged to our rally yesterday and the excitement. The people of Idah are excited to see an administration, directly administered by Governor Yahaya Bello and friend, Edward Onoja. That kind of Amity in the administration of any government is good.

“The contribution to the development of the area by the governor and his deputy are there to see and verify.

” With the support of Edward Onoja, Governor Yahaya Bello can develop and consolidate on the achievements of the first term. We know the antecedent. To know is a fresh start for us to see this chemistry and synergy in place. I think it is good.

“Our people are captivate and inspired. Like they say Ebigo. So our people can and Idah is taking the lead. You know the strength of Idah in the political calculus and goodwill, so I believe it is a done deal.

“This is not the first time, Idah was always for APC. If we have Idah, we have the lead in race, so we ask our supporters to keep up the tempo. Market, communicate and share the BELLO/ CEDO governance brand. They have done it for the people of Kogi East, the Igala Unity house, the road constructions and rehabilitation and many other projects are there to see. So this acceptance is expected and a step in the desired direction.

“You can see the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the Chairman of our party, Adams Oshiomhole in full spirit, they are impressed with the formidable bond and unity in Kogi State APC. The Vice President even commented that it  is a model in reconciliation management. That is our commitment to work for the return of Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja as his deputy, come November 16.
