Kogi Judiciary Mourns Justice, Holds Special Valedictory Court Session in His Honour

Kogi State Judiciary has held a special Court session in honour of late High Court Judge, Justice Arome Benson Akogu who died after brief illness.

Justice Akogu who was the High Court of Kabba died Sat his residence in Idah on 31st,December 2017 at a tender age of 54.

The State, Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, the representative of Senior Advocate of Nigeria  and Class 86,Chief Pius Akubo and others extolled the good virtues of late High Court Judge.

Late Arome Benson Akogu was described as epitome of legal profession, an incorruptible judge and had working man.

In his tribute shortly after the brief court session,the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah described him, bold, courageous and dedicated.

Justice Ajanah stated that his knowledge of the lawAnd hard work was to be utilized in another spherewhen Hon Justice Akogu was employed as Deputy Director of Public Prosecution in the year 2001 in the Ministry of Justice of Kogi State.

“He was elevated to a substantive Director of Publoc Prosecution in 2003,a position held painstaking commitment and seamless devotion when we elevated to the position of a Judge of the High Court of Justice of Kogi State.

“From his trajectory it is obvious that Hon. Justice A. B. Akogu by nature was personality in hurry to accomplish. All his endeavours in life were attained in record of time. The trait is no on me as evident from his work disposition in the stations he manned as a Judge of the High Court of Kogi State.

“He was also bold and did not mince words in telling anybody the the truth as he saw it,” He said.

The Chief Judge noted that his demise was great loss to Judiciary, Kogi State and Nigeria in Particular.

He however admonished the family to take solace in the fact that the Lord gives and takes,praying that may God grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable.
