Kogi Judiciary Starts New Legal Year with Prayers

As part of efforts to kick start the new legal year, Kogi State Judiciary has joined numerous Muslim umah for special prayers at Jumaat service in Lokoja Central mosque on Friday.

The occasion was used to pray for the Judges of High Courts, Kadis of Sharia Court of Appeal, Judges of Customary Courts management and staff of Judiciary and smooth legal year.

Similar special prayers session will be held at First ECWA Church in Lokoja on Sunday, September 27.

While special valedictory and Special Court Session would be held in honour of immediate past Chief Judge of the State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, Late Justice Ibrahim Atadoga, former President, Kogi State Customary Court and Justice Medayese Zacheaous Owonibi.

The Grand Kadi, the Honourable Abdulkareem A.Aruwa who spoke on behalf of Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Henry A. Olusuyi stated that the essence of this prayers is to kick start the new legal year in Kogi State.

In his brief sermon, Utaz Tanko Talle urged the judges to be truthful in the discharge of their duties, calling on them to be honest and just in their dealing to enable them to enter paradise on the day of judgement.

Talle explained that every soul will one day give an account of their deeds here on earth, stressing that everyone should thread in righteous part.

It would be recalled that the Kogi State High Court of Justice had earlier on taken his annual vacation and scheduled to resume on Monday, September 28.
