A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Honourable  Kabiru Yusuf has warned  the leadership of the Party to guard against the  imposition of  candidates on the party  ahead of 2019 elections, saying  would have negative  effects.

Yusuf who gave the warming on Saturday while addressing press men in Lokoja over the planned attempt to impose or give automatic tickets to some National Assembly Members from the State.

The Former Secretary to Lokoja Local Government Council has berated  the National Chairman of the party at his attempt to test the will of Kogi people, warning that the loss the party would experience if such actions are taken would be unimaginable.

Yusuf also warned the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, not to cross his bound at the planned  to impose   candidates on the party in Kogi state, maintaining that this is not the time for such impunity.

He admonished the leadership of PDP to give  all aspirants a level playing field to take part in the party’s primaries, noting that any attempt at imposing candidates on the party, would amount to pouring fuel on an existing flame.

Yusuf lamented that a situation in which  the party is just  overcoming it challenges  occasioned by persons who left the party, but now to choose to return would now given  automatic ticket to such persons as another disaster waiting to happen if such action is taken by the National leadership of the PDP.

He therefore called for a level playing ground  for all aspirants without any undue interference by the National leadership of the party and that of the Senate as is been alleged, warned that such action would only go to portray the party as one that has not learnt it lesson, and impugn on the capacity of the National Leadership.

The former Council Scribe   maintained that the PDP may be heading for a total extinction in Kogi State if the planned action by the National leadership of the PDP scales through, called for a rethink before it is too late.
