Kogi Replaces Heads of State Owned Tertiary Institutions

Kogi State Government has relieved the heads of States owned Tertiary Institutions and replaced with acting .

Governor, Yahaya Bello has as on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche as the acting Vice Chancellor, Prince Abubakar Audu Unversity, Anyigba.

Similarly , governor Bello approved the appointment of Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman as the Acting  Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Bello has also approved the appointment of Prof. Isa Adagiri Yahaya  as the Acting Chief Medical Director, Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.

Professor Yahaya replaces the former CMD of the Hospital, Dr Ahmed Attah.

This was statement in a statement signed  by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, both appointments take immediate effect.

Professor Tenuche, two-time Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, replaces Professor Mohammed S. Abdulkadir, who has been asked to proceed on terminal leave.

Dr. Usman on the other hand, replaces Professor M.S Atureta, whom, the statement said, has been relieved of his appointment.

The statement wished the out-going appointees “the best in their future endeavour” and stressed that all handing and taking over “should be completed immediately”.

It would recalled that the heads of the state owned Tertiary Institutions were suspended for not strictly in compliance with TSA  Single Treasury Account policy of the State in February 2020.

Those affected then are the Medical Director , Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ahmed Attah , Vice Chancellor Kogi  State University, Anyingba  and Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja Professor Mohammed Atureta .
