Kogi Restates Commitment to Curb Infants Mortality

Kogi State government has restated its commitment to continue to wage war against infants mortality in the state to reduce child death rate.

The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Abubakar Yakubu who disclosed this while speaking one-day seminar for Civil Society and Journalists on immunisation of children against Measles in the state.

Yakubu explained that immunisation of Children between the age of 9 – 18 months in Kogi State become necessary with a view to reducing infants mortality rate.

He urged the mothers to avail themselves for this opportunity to immunize their children against measles.

Also speaking at the Seminar a the State Health Educator, Yusuf Ocheku explained the immunization of children from age of 9 -18months will commence from 14th -29th December 2019.

The immunization will take place in 14 local government Area of Kogi State, urging all the nursing mothers in the designated local government area to ensure that their babies get vaccinated during the exercise.
