The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kosofe State Constituency 2 bye-election, Hon. Obafemi Saheed, has been declared winner at the collation centre.
Saheed won the election with a total vote of 12,434 while his close rival, Hon. Sikiru Alebiosu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 2068 votes in total.
The bye-election was conducted due to the death of Hon. Tunde Braimoh who represented the constituency in the Lagos state House of Assembly till mid of this year.
It is right to point that the bye-election took place peacefully in 397 polling units of the constituency with 280,363 registered voters.
