Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) will on 29th March 2021 open bids for the years 2014-2019 Universal Basic Education Commission intervention FGN/UBEC projects in the state.
The opening ceremony will hold at the board’s premises in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, with bidders expected to submit some more documents as well as get part refunds of the money used to purchase bid documents.
This was contained in a statement by Kwara SUBEB Press Secretary,Opeyemi Alade on Tuesday.
The request for additional documents is a requirement of the Federal Government.
He said in his statement that, “All bidders are expected to submit documents as follows: evidence of industrial training fund compliance certificate valid till 31st December, 2020; evidence of current Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2020; PENCOM compliance certificate valid till 31st December, 2020; evidence of registration on the National Database of federal contractors, consultants and services providers by submission of interim registration report expiring on the 31st December, 2020 or valid certificate issue by BPP.
“Bidders that have purchased bidding documents above N10,000 are advised to bring their payment receipt to SUBEB office for a refund of balance of the tender document in line with the National Bureau of Public Procurement regulations.”
Kwara State Government in November, 2020 had announced the receipt of N7,151,142,190 grant from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) the first time since 2013 when the state was blacklisted from the national scheme.
The UBEC grants are meant for rehabilitation of dilapidated basic schools, construction of new ones, equipping the schools with ICT tools, teacher training and project evaluation, among other purposes contained in the UBEC work plan.
The government declared that the money would be spent in phases over the next two years to fix many of the dilapidated elementary schools in the state.
